There is no more pleasant experience in the Caribbean that meeting other golfers at Cayman Islands with their breathtaking ocean views and exuberant foliage resembling a luxurious tropical oasis inviting you to participate in the exciting local tournaments.

Considered a golfers paradise, Cayman Islands’ golf courses blend magnificent lush greens with world-class facilities and amenities to choose from. There are 3 main courses, which are internationally renowned.

Along the North Sound Coast, the Links at Safehaven is the only 18-hole championship course in all of the Cayman Islands. This course is a par 71, measuring 6605 yards, and is situated 5 miles away from George Town, running off Seven Mile Beach.

Roy Case designed the greens on this course in 1994 based on USGA standards. This is very high standards greens, on average 5000 square feet and an overall course rating of 75.1, surrounded by a landscape designed with native flora and an interesting Scottish concept.

In fact, the name of this golf course is derived from the Scottish heritage from early Caymanian settlers. This course is characterized by its mildly undulating landscapes and challenging wide-open spaces for all golfing levels.

Because of its design and coastal location, the Links at Safehaven were left as created by nature, being home for exotic tropical flora, including shrubs such as mahogany, maho, thatch, cordia, coconut palms and shade trees, as well as countless species of wild birds.

Unfortunately, located in Grand Cayman the golf course is currently closed due to damage from Hurricane Ivan in 2004, but the Links at SafeHaven Golf Club keeps running full-service amenities for members and visitors, including the clubhouse, with its famous open-air bar.

Superior customer service includes practice facilities such as golf lessons, bunker areas, aqua driving range, changing rooms and full service food and beverage cart circulating all over the place. The Links at Safehaven offers also an exclusive golf fashion center for accessories and equipment.

The nearest Britannia Golf Club is reminiscent of legendary European courses such as Turnberry, Royal Troon, and Berkdale. This course is located in the heart of Seven Mile Beach, and it is part of the Hyatt Regency Grand Cayman Resort.

Britannia is the only course in the Caribbean designed picturesquely by Jack Nicklaus, featuring rolling dunes, grassy mounds, lakes and over sized bunkers, including all the hazards and natural challenges of traditional links or seaside layouts.

The course is basically an 18 hole executive with par 3's and 4's featuring two courses in one, as a par 58 executive style or short, course and a par 70-championship course. On hole 5, the tee shot must carry over the Caribbean Sea and water hazards comes into play on the 562-yard Hole 9.

According to the words of Jack Nicklaus', "This is the most versatile golf course I have ever designed; 2 different courses on 37 acres. It is something you have got to see and play.” By the way, visitors must not miss out paying a visit to Jack Nicklaus golf lounge.

In fact, you can play the course in Executive format, Monday, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sunday mornings, or as a challenging Championship 9-hole course, 2 different sets of tees for 18-holes Par 35 for 9, Par 70 for 18-holes. Yardage-5, 829, rating 72.1, Slope 135, played Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

Although the course is played with regular golf balls, golfers may choose from Cayman balls, specially developed for the Executive course by Jack Nicklaus. Other services offered by the Britannia include clinics from 2 world-class professionals, individual golf lessons junior programs, a golf shop, and the Britannia Bar and Grille.


Sunrise Family Golf Centre is the newest golf course in Grand Cayman, located less than 10 miles (15 minutes) from George Town and offering a picturesque 9-hole par 3 golf course. With a challenging layout suited for juniors, beginners and experienced golfers looking to sharpen their game skills.

Honoring it’s name, this golf course is intended for families, providing different facilities and amenities for children, women and men. Sunrise Family Golf Centre is basically a walking course, which measures 897 yards and a full size land based driving range, 300 yards in length.

Yardage markers, target greens, and grass teeing areas are just a few of the characteristic along this golf course. A friendly and qualified staff is ready to serve members and visitors, providing golf training lead by Robert Cummings, an American PGA Professional, Class A member.

The Sunrise Family Golf Centre features a clubhouse, golf shop, rental pull carts and clubs, as well as personal instruction or video lessons, following its mission statement: "offer affordable golf, played in a reasonable amount of time, and within an environment conducive to learning, accessible to all".

In addition, there is also an independent miniature golf course near the Hyatt Regency popularly known as Mini-Golf.
